Three One G celebrates 31 years!

“I’ve admired Three One G and its dedication to unusual music, aesthetics, and not giving a shit about trends and flavors of the moment since the nineties. In all that time, it’s never lost its momentum or its focus, never compromised itself artistically or business-wise, never released something that seemed cheesy or out of place, and remained a vital, vibrant through-line between the underground of today and what was happening three decades ago. While many other imprints have come and gone in that time, Three One G has stood the test of time, an icon of perseverance in independent culture. When it came time for us to reissue the music of Angel Hair, we didn’t think twice about doing it with Three One G. We trust Justin and his intentions and know we share the same ideals. And while it’s humbling winding up as label mates with some of our favorite bands, the opportunity to contribute to a well-respected and highly beloved continuum of art and artists that has remained unbroken for three decades is the most meaningful part.” – Sonny Kay (GSL, Angel Hair, The VSS)

“What we love about Three One G is they are an artist-run label that cares more about integrity and ethos than what kind of genre the music is and is it going to sell. It doesn’t follow fads.  It is its own microcosm oozing at the seams, allowing artists to be artists.  And speaking of that, those ideas seep into not just giving music a platform, but also giving writers a platform to release books and visual artists, designers, filmmakers a place to express themselves as well. We couldn’t be more honored to be a part of this “weirdo for life” family.” – Nicola Kuperus (ADULT.)

“Three One G is more than a label or brand. It is a family of artists discovered from the most obscure reaches, given the latitude and support to reach the full potential of their unique visions. If you don’t know Three One G, you don’t know shit about fuck. I am honored to be a part of it.” – Lucien Greaves (Satanic Planet, cofounder, spokesperson of The Satanic Temple)

“Working with Three one G was a dream for me being a fan of their releases and general aesthetic for a good part of my adult life.  Once we started working with them it was clear that this label was focused on continuing to push interesting music in interesting ways.  Late night brainwaves from Justin with ideas about releases he wants to try were always forward thinking and exciting.
It’s been an honour and a pleasure to be able to release music with 31G.” – Chris Slorach (METZ)

“Being able to be a part of a record on Three One G this year was a 30yr long goal achieved. Regardless of the fact I learned about the label in 1999. For those that suck at math at times like me, that was only 25 years ago yet Three One G helps me travel through time constantly with the ridiculous and important records they have put out over the years. I just gifted my Crimson Curse/Festival of Dead Deer split I’ve had since 2000 to a 13 year old family member who asked for it by name on her xmas list. WTF?! To me that shows how iconic, timeless, absolutely mind bending this label still is somehow 31 years later. Always an honor to meet folks involved, be involved, and to keep spinning new thoughtful inspiring freak shit that oozes from the waxy grooves of every 31g release.” – Jenna Pup (HIRS)

“Three One G Records has been a beacon of innovation and creativity for 31 years, proving that the relentless spirit of experimental music knows no bounds. Justin Pearson is a visionary, whose unwavering dedication to sincerity and integrity has not only nurtured countless artists but has also inspired a generation to embrace creativity and authenticity in their art. Three One G is a platform that empowers artists to express their true selves, and we are the lucky ones to witness it.” – Julie Robbins (CEO, EarthQuaker Devices)

“Since punk rock that lived beneath the surface entered my periphery, Three One G remained among the most subversive and interesting. Riding the fine line of music to dance to, roll around on the floor to, or jump off a speaker to. It’s never been for everyone and that’s what drew me in in the first place.” – Jeremy Blom (Touche Amore)

“Since the turn of the century it’s been an insane time to run a record label, mostly due to streaming, yet Justin / Three One G continues to release uncompromising music on vinyl. Labor of love puts it mildly, but indeed the risk of putting everything into it has paid off by solidifying a space on the face of music history for the freaks!
Three One G is some of the weird glue that helps bind new crazy artists with recent generations of insane bands, while unleashing legacy releases such as Angels Hair’s Insect Immortality.
The Locust used to self release vinyl under Radio Surgery and now these releases have found their natural home at Three One G, including The Locust Peel Sessions which was the first recording we did with Gabe on drums.
I’m super stoked to be part of the Three One G family tree by being a part of The Locust, Holy Molar, and The Institute for Navigating the Universal Self (INUS). Every release by those bands went the same way-out-there distance, perpendicular weird paths.” – Bobby Bray (The Locust, Holy Molar, INUS)

“Three One G Records has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of underground music, art, and punk scene since its inception in the mid 90s.
Always prioritizing artistic integrity and fostering a DIY ethos, Three One G has always made a commitment to avant-garde aesthetics and lends support to marginalized voices. The importance of this label cannot be overstated and it is a cornerstone of punk that still influences countless musicians and artists that seek to challenge mediocrity.
To speak plainly, Three One G changed the art and music world one rpm at a time and altered the trajectory of my life forever.” – Rob Moran

“Three One G. Thirty-one years! It is an achievement for any relationship, organization or business but truly triumphant for an independent record label releasing some of the most genre-shifting, mind-bending, and challenging music ever. Without compromise or infiltration from anyone’s interests but their own and their artists. To at least thirty-one more!” – Molly Neuman (Bratmobile, Lookout! Records)
